Gean Alston
A voice surrendered to God's purpose. A life transformed by grace.
Gean Alston is a previous member and co-founder of the musical group No Chains. As a primary writer of the No Chains catalog, Gean's signature heart felt messages and arrangements can be heard in the group's award-winning debut album “Call On Jesus” and with the rhythmic “Tell Somebody.” After a short hiatus, Gean is back in God's harvest! From the conversational and powerful release Holy Spirit to his new release Wheel in the Middle of the Wheel, you will be drawn to Gean's signature sound.
Growing up in Flint Michigan, Gean was shaped by the sounds of traditional soul and the Motown sound. Gean was drawn to Christian messages and the rich legacy of Black gospel music. Those early years planted seeds of purpose that would eventually bloom into a full-time ministry of song.
Gean's journey has not been without valleys. Through personal trials, seasons of doubt, and moments of deep searching, the music became a lifeline — a way of crying out to God and finding His answer in return. That authenticity is what listeners hear in every note.
Today, Gean Alston stands as a voice for the believer who needs to be reminded that God is faithful, that grace is real, and that praise is always the right response — no matter what the season looks like.
A Ministry of Music
"I don't just sing songs. I sing God's words. Every lyric is part of a broader message, persuasion to try Jesus, something God has inspired"
